Fitness Tip of the Day: Blast off That 4th of July BBQ!
So let me guess…your still regretting that enormous burger you consumed at Uncle Todd’s 4th of July bash…and the savory chips & dip…and the 2 Margaritas…and the 3 cookies that were so festive that you just couldn’t passs them up right? Maybe you celebrated our Nations birthday a little too hard? Well I’m here to tell you stop wallowing in your self-pity & do something about it! Try these 2 moves below, performing each exercise for 30 seconds- 3 times through
to help reshape your abs, butt, and legs back to pre-4th of July shape! Happy Fat blasting
Spider Crawl:
Muscles targeted: triceps, abs, legs, and butt.
– Starting on the floor in a full plank position, lunge your right foot forward to outside of right hand.
– Balancing on hands, jump feet off floor and switch them in midair, bringing left foot to outside of left hand and extending right leg behind you. Continue alternating feet for 30 seconds. That’s one, try working up to 3 sets!
*If your strength isn’t quite there to balance on your hands (don’t worry after a few weeks of these bad boy’s you’ll be Spider Crawling your way around town ;) ) try lunging your right foot forward, and instead of jumping, step it back to your starting position; alternating through both sides for 30 seconds.
Burpee Squat Walk:
Muscles targeted: abs, butt, and inner thighs
– Start by standing with feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart & angled into a slight V-shape, with arms by sides.
– Lower into a plie-like squat and place palms on floor in front of feet.
– Walk hands forward into full push-up position, with legs maintaining a wide V, and try doing a push-up.
– Once you’ve completed a push-up walk hands back toward feet to return to squat position. 
– Immediately stand or jump up, extending arms overhead (this is where the ”burpee” term comes into play…I know, I know, don’t ask, but if you must…see Pic to the right)
– Return to starting position and repeat 30 seconds through. Just like the spider crawl, try working up to 3 sets. If not, no big deal, as your strength will increase the more consistently you perform these moves!

Fitness Tip of the Day: Get Outdoors & Get In Shape!
Now that we’re a full week into summer, and most of us are experiencing the increase in heat, why not break out of your normal gym routine, and step outside for some fresh air and sun for

your workout! Have a local park nearby? Even better! For a great workout sure to break you out of the norm, try jogging, walking, walk/jog (alternating walking and jogging every 2 min), or even something as simple as riding your bike!
Once you get to the park, pick 2 body weight exercises- one focusing on upper body and the other on lower body. A great example for upper body is park bench push ups-working your shoulders, arms, and core. Another good example for a lower body toning exercise is body weight squats-working your hamstring, butt, and quads! Try alternating between each exercise with 3 sets of 8 reps each!
