Fitness tip- Day #1: Don’t be afraid to go fast
“Lots of people go for long, slow, steady rides. If you ride long, slow and steady, you’re going to race long, slow and steady. You have to go faster, harder and stronger in order to reach those faster times. There’s a place for periodization and for not doing too hard of intervals too early in the season. Easiest way to go fast? Take a spin class at your local health club or gym. Classes are anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. If you are a beginner I recommend starting in the half hour slot. Spin classes are a great way to tone muscle strength in your legs while getting a high amount of cardio in! Don’t have a membership? Jump on a bike and challenge yourself to riding strong for a total of 30 minutes with 5 minutes sprints on and 5 minutes off.
Day 1- Meal Plan
This weight loss diet meal plan is designed to provide an overall healthy-eating program that meets the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans at a 1500 daily caloric level. I challenge you to make these meals daily- their usually fairly quick, easy, and cheap and packed with nutrient-rich foods, including whole grains, lean meats, low-fat dairy and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
